CANCELLED ABOUT GUITARS ON THE BEACH 2020 CANCELLED
The inevitable has arrived, we had everything crossed that we would not have to write this post but here goes, regrettably Guitars On The Beach 2020 – June 27th is cancelled and due to the uncertainty for the remainder of the year we are planning on a rollover and making #thelasttime June 2021
So to brighten the sad news of Guitars on the Beach 2020 not being on the Beach, we are planning a scaled down #virtualguitarsonthebeach for the 27th of June 2020, we will be using a few of the songs from this year for the virtual event and saving some for the rollover next year. There will still be a play-along section plus guest acts but you will watch and join in from the safety of your homes, more details will follow over the next few weeks.
If you have pre-ordered a wristband, firstly we hope you will be coming to the postponed event in June 2021, and your pre-sale will be carried over, if you require a refund please email email@example.com. We will not be selling wristbands this year due to the logistics of getting them to people.
What will happen to the money raised from Just Giving?
The money is safe and although we have had to put a sizeable deposit down for the stage, which we potentially could loose, we feel comfortable that if we have to postpone the event it is not at risk, we may have to do a little more fundraising, but we will cope.
Thanks for your continued support and love, stay safe and we hope you all join us in taking part in #guitarsvirtuallyonthebeach love the Guitars on the Beach team x
Guitars On The Beach is the UK’s largest guitar festival at which hundreds of guitarists of all ages and abilities come together to simultaneously play a selection of well-known songs and form Britain’s biggest band, performing on the beach in Lyme Regis in Dorset.
For 2020, the event, at which bands will perform from 10 am to 10 pm, will be held on June the 27th, and for the theme this year we will be focusing on family. The main play-along song will be Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young’s “TEACH YOUR CHILDREN”. “The song is at the heart of what we have always wanted from Guitars on the Beach, passing on the love of music to your child and family”.
For updates please also see our Facebook page.
The sand band – who play along to the songs performed by a house band of local musicians performing on a stage on the beach, like playing along to a record – will also be invited to play along to the house band set, as is done every year. Join in on Buddy Holly’s “Rave On” [GOTB’s signature song], and many more to be announced.
